Absolute maximum solar input for 6000X?

Hi, I've searched but find conflicting answers around the internet (go figure). What I'm looking for is what is the maximum solar input for all input plugs for a 6000X? Can you feed 600 watts into the APP and also 120 watts into each of the 6mm plug ports at the same time? Or, is that too much and you can only feed 600 watts maximum into the APP slot and that's it?

Thanks!!

    @klange Here is a break down of what the input ports can handle on the 6000X. This is also the same for the 1000X, 1500X and 3000X.

    • Charging port (input, 8mm): 14-50V, up to 10A (150W max) (front face/under lid)
    • HPP charging port (input): 14-50V, up to 50A (600W max)

    Unfortunately you can not run 150W into each 8mm port and 600W into the HPP at the same time. If you have anything plugged into the HPP port, the 8mm ports will not accept any input. So even if you have 10 watts going into the HPP and 100 watts trying to going into the 8mm it will just do the HPP. The maximum solar input into the Yeti 6000X is 600W. We would recommend running 600W into he HPP port.

    What you can also do is add the MPPT Module and install that under the lid of the 6000X. The MPPT module will allow an extra 360W of total input through it's 2 - 8mm ports and 1 HPP. With the MPPT installed you will not be able to use the Yeti Link.

    Good to know - thanks. I wasn't aware that the 8mm ports cut out if the other is used.

    Also good to hear about the additional MPPT slot available. Reading about it on the product page there isn't specific mention of the 6000X, so it was unclear if it could be added.

    thanks

    @klange,

    For the 6000X you can also get an additional 750W of power through the Yeti Link Expansion Module instead of the MPPT module:

    I’m using a 1000x. So if anything is plugged into HPP, even a cable with nothing generating power, then it won’t receive AC via the AC 8mm? I’m trying to determine the easiest way to switch between and solar. I’m driving a 2023 Toyota with a 400W AC port that turns off when I turn off the vehicle. I realize the yeti will only receive 150 W from but that will often be more than the 2 100W solar panels. I’d prefer not to have to get into the back of my rig every time I turn off the car and plug in the solar. It seems that will be necessary given what was posted here. Am I misunderstanding something? It would be nice if I do that, that I could set up some sort of extension cord to disconnect the solar panels from the HPP from the front seat with the battery in the back. Where’s my only real alternative to buy the $200 additional unit?
