Yeti 1000 MPPT charging vs Boulder with PWM
Is there any benefit to add the MPPT charge controller expansion to Yeti 1000 if 200 watt solar panels have a PWM controller? Would charge time and relative efficiency be equivalent?

Hi @Solar_flux,
It is possible to get 20-40% more power from the same solar panels using our MPPT add-on module than the PWM charge controller that is built into the Yeti 1000.
Connecting multiple charge controllers in series is not recommended and may limit performance. If you have the option to bypass the PWM charge controller on your solar panels and the output voltage is within the 15-22V DC you could connect them to an MPPT module connected to the Yeti 1000.
You may need to add/change connectors on your solar or use adapters if they don't already have MC4 or Power Pole connectors. If you need to change or add connectors to your solar panel, take care to verify polarity and voltage of the wires with a Multi-meter. All current Goal Zero solar panels are combined in parallel not series to keep the voltages in rage for the MPPT charge controller.
Sites like Amazon have inexpensive Multi-meters and kits with crimpers and connectors.
Here are some of the adapters needed to connect to the Yeti 1000 & MPPT module Goal Zero offers:
