Charging a Yeti 200x with standard solar panel
I have a Yeti 200x - I also have a Photonic Universe Solar Briefcase 150w. It says in the manual it isn't designed for Lithium batteries - The Controller is PU1024BW
I have seen in the past somewhere someone charging a Yeti will a standard solar panel.
Do I have to buy another solar panel of can I use my current one or is there an adapter I could use?
All help appreciated TIA

Hi @DrPhoto,
The Yeti 200X – Goal Zero has a built in MPPT charge controller that allows 13-22V DC in via the 8mm port on the back. It says it will only take in 100W. As long as your solar panel is inside that voltage range you don't worry about the Amps(current) because the Yeti will only take the current that it needs.
The PU1024BW charge controller you mention is not needed with the 200X.
If this is the panel you are asking about, the voltage specs seem to be compatible. https://www.photonicuniverse.com/en/catalog/full/298-150W-12V24V-folding-solar-panel-without-a-solar-charge-controller.html
I am not sure what kinds of connectors are on the back of the 150W folding panels you have. If the charge controller you already have is mounted to the solar panels and already wired in you will need to disconnect the controller from the panels and connect the solar to the yeti without it.
Here are some of the 8mm adapters needed to connect to the Yeti 200X Goal Zero offers:
If you need to change or add connectors to your solar panel, take care to verify polarity and voltage of the wires with a Multi-meter. All current Goal Zero solar panels are combined in parallel not series to keep the voltages in rage for the MPPT charge controller.
Sites like Amazon have inexpensive Multi-meters and kits with crimpers and connectors.
