DC to DC charger rather than MPPT in Expansion Port

Member Posts: 2 ✭✭

On a Yeti 1400 Lithium I'd like to connect a DC to DC charger using the same configuration as the Victron External MPPT controller. That is to go from:

Battery (alternator) - to - Victron DC to DC charger -to- EC8 connector under the lid of the yeti. After a quick call with tech support, it sounds like the port will take 300W at 25A. (I can make the output of the charger whatever I want it to be up to 17v/50A.)

I know I can go in through the 22W/360A Anderson connector on the front, but cabling would be cleaner using the port under the lid.

Thanks for guidance from anyone that's done this.

Chris
