How to force firmware update on Yeti 700?
I just bought a brand new Yeti 700 direct from Goal Zero. The App reports that it has the original firmware version 1.1.6. Firmware version 1.3.1 was released over 4 months ago.
When I try to update from the App I get the error message. "Update failed. Try again later. A similar update has already been scheduled". This error pops up after only a few seconds.
What does it mean by "A similar update has already been scheduled"? Does this mean that it will install the update on its own at a later time? I tried leaving it plugged and connected to Wi-Fi overnight, but that didn't help?
I've tried resetting the Yeti 700 (hold down light and info button for 3 seconds). I get a beep and then it displays three sets of dashes, then I get the normal display. The reset didn't help. I still get the same error.
Is there anything else I can try in order to get the firmware update to install?
Any thoughts or ideas? Do I need to ship this back to Goal Zero and let them try to figure it out?

Wow, no help? I have the same issue

I found the solution for my issue.
It appears that if the Yeti 700 has a weak Wi-Fi signal, it will delay a firmware update until it has a stronger signal.
I suspect that the Yeti 700 also has a firmware bug concerning Wi-Fi. If your Wi-Fi network has multiple access points (in my case multiple eero base stations), the Yeti might latch onto an access point that is far away, rather than one that is only 8 feet away. As the Yeti is right next to an access point, it might not occur to you that it has a weak wi-fi signal. The error message from the App isn't the most helpful (I think it should include text something like "Update is waiting for a stronger wi-fi signal").
In my case, I was able to use the eero management software to determine which eero the Yeti was talking to. I then moved the Yeti to be next to that eero access point. Once I did that, the firmware update was able to proceed.
What's strange is that I also have a Yeti Pro 4000. It was sitting next to the Yeti 700, and the 4000 had no trouble latching on to the nearby eero.
If you are having the same issue, and you have multiple access points (or wi-fi repeaters), try moving your Yeti to be near a different access point (or repeater)
