I just bought a 1000x. It charges at 118 watts when plugged into ac outlet. If I hook up the car charger or solar panels it doesn't go beyond that

Should it?

I just purchased an 1000x also and my AC charges at 118 W and maybe 120W. I haven't hooked it to anything else yet. I know I am not supposed to exceed 22V when charging and I believe that has to do with not hooking too large a solar panel to the unit. I'm working with a local solar company and they are great at answering some questions. They told me not to go over 380W on charging this unit.

    Hello @Nicholas ,

The 1000x has 2 types of input ports. The 8mm and the High Power Port (HPP). The 8mm is what the regular wall or 12V car charger will use. This is rated at a maximum of 150W, max of 10A, range of 14-50V. As long as what you plug into the 8mm is within these limits, you would be fine.

The HPP port is rated at up to 600W, max of 50A and range of 14-50V. Using solar panels, as long as you are within these ranges, you are fine. All of our Yeti X Charging Cables, the 120W, 230W (out of stock), 600W, and 12V Car Charger, are rated within these limits so the biggest issue to worry about are your solar setups.

If you are using the Link module for the Vehicle Integration, it will use a different charge controller and processing firmware through that Link module. This can allow a varying amount of power depending on several conditions that will generally see you getting inut to the unit around 200-500W but can occasionally reach 600-700W. Older firmware versions on this link would sometimes allow up to 800 or so for brief moments but those have been updated to help limit the input wattage to closer around that 200-500W range.
