What are the pros/cons of charging a Yeti 700 with a 200w 24v solar panel v a 12v
I have 2 100w panels that I can wire in parallel or series to create a 200x12v or 200x24v system. What are the pros/cons of charging the yeti 700 with a 24v system? I also own a previous gen 500x and didn’t want to wxceed the 22v max; however it seems that the 700 will handle up to 28v?

Hello @Jmeiser ,
The main difference a higher voltage would make is less line loss however, are your panels rated to output at 12V (individually) or are they rated as compatible with 12V Battery Charge Controllers? That can make a difference in the wiring you need to use. Most panels at 100V are actually rated around 18-22V which means you would need to put them in parallel instead of series. We recommend you base your measurements on the VoC or Open Circuit Voltage for the voltages you are measuring in series and parallel. Use the imp or Max System Current for the amperage when you measure.
