Best storage advice?

I have a 400 and a 1000 yeti. We use them for when we do our week long camping in the summer the most. When fall/ winter come they get put away. What is the best practice to preserve their battery life? Always plugged in? Never plugged in? Is the garage ok? I'm in Colorado so it can get pretty dang cold in the winters. Thanks in advance!

Storage it in a cool (no frosting) place, charged at 50%. Check every month the charge and recharge to 50% if is necessary.

Important: for a max lifespan use the unit. It‘s not good for the battery when it sit for some month without use.
