What is +/-?

I think I just wasted $20. I got a 6mm outlet wire for my goal zero 200 thinking it would have +/- leads inside to connect to a fuse panel. Well it has a white wire surrounded my more wire. I’m far from an electrician. Is either of these +/- or something different?

Keep the stripped ends apart and connect to the Yeti faceplate. Measure the voltage on the stripped ends to see what the polarity is.
