Is it normal for the connector cable to heat up on hot days (35 C) with high input reading? The cable has deformed and my yeti 400 is not being powered. Before ordering a new cable I would like some assessment from experienced yeti owners. The yeti 400 is four years old but was not operational for 20 months. Thanks

It is normal for the power supplies to get pretty hot. I would totally replace that cable and also the battery. If the battery has sat without any use for longer than 6 months it has probably lost a lot of capacity. Imagine letting your car sit for 20 months. There is a good chance you would need a jump or new battery. For the best experience I would recommend a fresh start. New battery and new power supply.
