Yeti 150 passthrough?
Hi - can I passthrough charge (discharge and charge at the same time) with my Yeti 150? I want to use it to run a raspberry pi-based device in my car. I have used it to charge ipads and things on the go in the car (with the proper car charger) but not sure if its actually passthrough charging or not?

Hi — yes, this works. All Yeti (and Sherpa) provides pass through.

A followup question. I have the YET 1500x and it doesn't seem to do passthrough charging. Right now it is nearly fully charged, plugged in, and is running some lighting. The output indicates the wattage drawdown but input is listing 0 watts in. (powerpack is plugged into the wall).
If I unplug the unit and then replug it in, it will top back up to 100%. once, it hits 100%, it stops maintaining the charge and the lights drain it again.
How do I get it to maintain and passthrough charge?

Hello @AlinerLXE ,
Passthrough is a bit of a misnomer with the Yeti Lithium, Yeti X and Sherpa Power stations. They can handle a simultaneous output and input but true passthrough would bypass the unit. They are not able to do this. Our newer units are able to do a true passthrough but the 1500x will essentially be permanently draining and recharging at the same time. Please try the following resets and troubleshooting; if they don't help, reach out to our customer service department: support@goalzero.com (email), 888-794-6250 (phone).
Step 1. Connect the yeti to your phone using the Goal Zero App. Ensure that the unit is updated to the most recent firmware. The screen will flash briefly.
Step 2. Battery Reset: Hold the RESET button (button under the lid inside of the green circle) for about 5-6 seconds.
Step 3. Factory Reset: Hold the UNITS and INFO buttons down at the same time for 10-15 seconds. When you see wifi and bluetooth flashing together, the reset is done.
Step 4. Battery Reset: Disconnect all inputs and then hold the INFO and RESET buttons down at the same time. After about a minute, it will turn on again. You may need to plug in the charging cable if it does not turn on after about 5 minutes.

Hi GoalZero Admin. thanks so much for this clarification. very helpful! I think all is good now but will keep watch.
May I followup with another question? There is a low-grade odor coming from the Yeti1500x whenever it is plugged in. It was noticeable when i unboxed the item and very noticeable during the initial charging. I thought it would go away. I've had the unit on my desk with a bunch of things plugged in, to give it a good use test-run. The smell remains constant. It is a chemical odor and I wonder if this is common, or expected to go away. Or if I should be concerned. I'm not a tech-hypochondriach and expect this is normal. But I'm not used to large lithium battery banks so wanted to check. Thanks

That odor is normal. There is an anti-flammatory coating on the fan blades to prevent them from catching fire while operating due to friction. It does tend to be prevalent when the battery is newer and tends to fade after some use.
