I'm wanting to connect 2 Renogy 100W panels to my GZ 1500x for my camper van. Panels will be on roof of van. A couple of questions:

  1. Is it best to connect the panels in series or parallel when connecting to GZ 1500x?
  2. Do I need a shut-off/breaker before connecting wires to GZ? I read a post that indicated this was required per electrical standards.

I'm planning to connect using a MC4 (from panels) to Anderson (into GZ) adaptor.
