I'm wanting to connect 2 Renogy 100W panels to my GZ 1500x for my camper van. Panels will be on roof of van. A couple of questions:
- Is it best to connect the panels in series or parallel when connecting to GZ 1500x?
- Do I need a shut-off/breaker before connecting wires to GZ? I read a post that indicated this was required per electrical standards.
I'm planning to connect using a MC4 (from panels) to Anderson (into GZ) adaptor.

Be aware that the high power charge port of the Y1500X rating is 14V-50V 600W so never exceed either of those values. When sun is blocked from any panel hooked up in series the whole string is affected. When sun is blocked from panels in parallel only the power of that panel is reduced. GZ offers a MC4 to HPP adaptor to allow easy connection to the Y1500X https://www.goalzero.com/collections/solar-accessories/products/mc4-solar-to-hpp-adapter-cable
