I have a 500x

my GZ car charger will not charge higher than 60 watts on either 5 amp or 10 amp setting. Have tried connected to car cigarette lighter at idle and driving. Also tried with car charger directly connected to a charged 12 V battery. Also tried with 500x at 73% charge and 90% charge to rule out stadium effect. Is the charger defective? Please advise.

    Yes, same result. I tried a shorter and thicker (3ft 12AWG) wire connection to my battery and got 130 watts into the 500x. All my GZ products work perfectly. Thanks

    @2kirk_falconer,

    Some cig ports don't have very large wires on them.

    Smaller wires adds more resistance and more resistance drops the available voltage at the end of the wire which drops the maximum wattage. My vehicle has two cig ports. A 120W and a 130W. Neither one can actually produce 120W. I have thought about making upgrading the wire on the run to the rear of my vehicle so I can run beefier loads there but I use solar more than I use the cig ports.
