Chaining a new 50W Boulder panel to three 30W (older) Boulder Solar Panels

Tech support at Goal Zero recommends purchasing the 4X connector to chain these panels together. Does this make sense to the community? Previously I had 3 30W Boulders chained together in series. Is the 4X connector necessary? Can't I run the 3 Boulder 30W's together then the 50W then the connection to the battery?

Hello @MrHockey172000 Goal Zero recommends chaining no more than 150 Watts of panels in line without the 4x 8mm combiner. In this case your would be at 140W so there is no issue connect these 4 panels together.
