DC/AC Inverter Efficiency

I assume that the power rating for a Yeti 1000 Core is for DC usage only. When converting from DC to AC, energy is consumed (obviously). What is the Yeti's inverter's efficiency?

A Google search turns up claims that modern inverters are 85 to 90 % efficient. IE a 1,000 watt battery could provide 850-900 watts of AC power.

thanks in advance

    Hi @halverg,

The inverter on the Yeti 1000 core uses between 7-10W to convert power from DC to AC. This means that you would be getting the majority of the battery if you use the full capacity in an hour. Keep in mind, the longer the battery run with the AC used, the higher the efficiency loss. For example, if the Yeti runs for one hour, you would only lose 10W max, but if it runs for two hours you would lose 20W max and so on.
