Hi,

I just received a Nomad 20 and tried it with several devices connected directly to it, being unable to use it. It’s a bit cloudy here in London (12-14pm) but enough sun I can project my own shadow.

1. The mobile phone, iPhone 15 pro, keeps “connecting and disconnecting”, with the battery dying 1% every 2-3 minutes because of this. This happens when the charging input is not strong enough I assume.

2. An external battery doesn’t even charge. At all.

3. My Apple Watch (I tried this because the battery is small and wireless so it requires less power) didn’t charge at all in an hour. The battery went from 87% to 81%.

Am i missing anything?

    @davidcontrerasm,

    Sunlight that can cast a shadow may not be enough of the right kind of solar radiation. A good unit to look for in weather data or a handheld meter is Solar Irradiance or Solar Radiation. Anything between 800W/m^2 is good solar conditions for a solar panel.

    Tempest weather stations have a map that you can view live data from a station near you ( or you can purchase your own from them ) but you have to drill down in a few clicks for a station to see its Irradiance data. To do this click on any measurement on the dashboard at the top of the station page like the UV index the to get to the grid view

    Try again on a clear day when you can see 800-1000W/m^2 on a nearby station.

    The Nomad 20 is too small to get a charge in winter. It's always better use a power bank between solar and charging unit. The power bank provides power every time and you can recharge the power bank if the day is sunny and clear.
