Here are some tips and tricks for the new Yeti 300/500/700 power stations! This post includes resets and button combos.

  1. When turning on the unit make sure to hold the power button for 1-2 seconds. A quick press will not turn the unit on. If no ports are activated and the WIFI is off, the power station will turn off after about 5 minutes.
  2. The (light + Info) buttons held down together for about 3-5 seconds will perform a reset. The screen will flash, and you will hear the Yeti beep. Once you hear it beep you can let go.
  3.  The (Info + 12v) button is used to change the battery charging profiles. Hold Info and short press the 12v button. You will see the screen change as you perform the short press on the 12v button.
  4. Hold the Info button for 3-5 seconds to show Firmware and Temperature. The firmware will show first and then it will switch to the temperature.
  5. The Yeti 300/500/700 can be charged in either High or Low speed mode.

Low speed charging mode has 2 main benefits, both a result of keeping the yeti cool. It keeps the fans running quiet for longer (depending on ambient) and it maximizes cycle life. This mode is how we reach the maximum claim of 4000+ cycles.

High speed charging prioritizes time to full over everything else, meaning we get hot and fans run hard. The charge rate is around the rating of the cells, so if the yeti is routinely in that mode a customer can expect ~2000 cycles. All cycles are to 80% of original capacity.

How to change the charging speed:

  • Press and hold the INFO button.
  • While still holding the INFO button, press the AC button once to enter the input limit selection.
  • Press the AC button a second time to switch between Low and High input limits. The screen will show Hi or Lo.
