Can the Yeti 1500X / 3000X / 6000X be damaged by too much HPP charge?

In a perfect world I'd like to get the full 600W charging capacity out of solar panels. But in my experience I get 170W average (210W spikes) on 3 Boulder 100 panels on a clear summer day - and this was only possible after I replaced the GZ 30' 12AWG HPP cable with a 3rd party 10' 10AWG HPP cable.

If I did the math based on my observed charge then I would need at least 10 Boulder 100 panels to achieve 600W based on the average.

My question is this: Say I decide that money is no object and I buy another 7 panels. I plug them in and get 600W average. If I get a spike that goes above 600W from the panels, is the Yeti charge controller smart enough to discard the extra wattage? Or do I risk damaging the unit altogether?

Current setup:

3x Boulder 100 --> 4x 8mm to HPP combiner adapter --> 10' 10AWG cable --> Yeti 3000X

The panels are 6" off of the ground and perfectly perpendicular to the midday sun.
